Check out our latest weekly round-up as we offer you a comprehensive guide of everything that's going on inside Southampton Football Club...

Honours even on derby day

Southampton’s long wait to taste victory in a league derby at Fratton Park was extended by another frustrating draw with south coast rivals Portsmouth.

Saints thought they were on course for a first league triumph on enemy territory in 50 years when Leo Scienza raced through on goal to beat Nicolas Schmid, but a 77th-minute corner proved to be the visitors’ undoing, as Ebou Adams forced the ball over the line from close range to salvage a share of the spoils.

Saints had returned to winning ways on Wednesday night with a 1-0 home victory over Sheffield United, ending a run of seven Championship outings without a victory.

Saints back on the road at Stoke

Next up for Tonda Eckert’s side is a trip to Stoke on Saturday (12.30pm GMT).

The Potters have been promotion contenders for most of the season, but are without a victory in their last three matches, seeing them drop down to 10th. Saints would move to within two points of their hosts with an away win.

Tickets remain on general sale for Saints fans, with a 3,000-strong allocation up for grabs. Fans without a ticket can watch the game live at St Mary's.

Women suffer Sunderland defeat

Southampton FC Women were unable to follow up their south coast derby triumph with a third consecutive league win, falling to a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland.

Eleanor Dale scored the only goal of the game 11 minutes into the second half for the hosts.

Saints now have back-to-back home games at St Mary’s to look forward to, starting with Sunday’s WSL2 meeting with Crystal Palace (2pm GMT).

Under-21s see off West Brom

Saints continued their good form in Premier League 2 with a 2-0 home win over West Brom at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on Monday night.

Cameron Bragg and Nick Oyekunle scored the goals, leaving Saints third in the table, just two points behind league leaders Manchester United.

Next up is a trip to second-placed Chelsea on Friday night (7pm GMT), before Saints host RB Leipzig in the Premier League International Cup at Eastleigh on Tuesday 3rd February (7pm GMT).

This weekend will see Saints head to West Ham (Saturday, 11am GMT), with both sides currently level on points.
