It was a memorable night for Southampton youngster Roméo Lavia, who made his senior Belgium debut during the friendly win over Germany.

The 19-year-old had to wait until the 80th minute for his big moment, coming on and helping Domenico Tedesco's side to an impressive 3-2 win in Germany on Tuesday night.

Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku helped the Red Devils storm into a 2-0 lead inside the opening ten minutes, before Niclas Füllkrug pulled a goal back for the hosts with a 44th minute penalty.

Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne added to his two assists with a goal of his own on 78 minutes, which proved to be the winner despite Serge Gnabry reducing the deficit with three minutes to go.

Elsewhere it was an important night of qualifying for two of Saints' midfielders. Moi Elyounoussi played 78 minutes of Norway's 1-1 draw at Georgia as they bid to secure their spot at European Championships 2024.

Alexander Sørloth put the visitors ahead inside the first 15 before Georges Mikautadze secured a vital point for Georgia on the hour mark, leaving Elyounoussi's nation fourth in Group A after two games.

When it came to qualifying for the African Cup of Nations Moussa Djenepo's Mali suffered a set back as Omar Colley's 79th minute goal ensured of victory for hosts Gambia. Djenepo started the game but was substituted on 58 minutes.
