Ahead of Remembrance Day, Southampton men’s first team will be wearing commemorative poppy-branded shirts at Sunday’s Premier League home fixture against Newcastle, in support of the Royal British Legion.

The club is paying its respects to the British Armed Forces and will once again be auctioning off the match-worn shirts, following this weekend’s match.

All of the shirts worn on matchday will be put up for auction by Saints Foundation to help raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Saints Foundation’s

participants have already been showing their support by getting their knitting needles out. They’ve collectively created more than 100 poppies and donated them to Southampton City Council to decorate the cenotaph for Remembrance.

Fans will also be able to make donations at St Mary’s on Sunday, with Royal British Legion collectors taking donations before kick-off.

The Royal British Legion rely solely on help from the public in order to provide lifelong support for both serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. You can find out more about the Royal British Legion and how your contribution will have an impact
