Saints enjoyed another fruitful outing in Premier League 2 on Sunday, as they hosted Reading at Snows Stadium.

Luke Pearce put Dave Horseman’s side ahead after 23 minutes, before Thierry Small doubled the lead just past the hour mark. Jahmari Clarke with a consolation for Reading during the final three minutes.

Wolves are similarly going well in PL2, sitting a point and a place above Saints in fourth and winning their last five games in the division.

Their last outing came at home to Aston Villa, where goals from Taylor Perry, Chem Campbell and Harry Birtwistle secured a 3-0 victory.

A win for Saints on Friday would see them rise above Wolves to as high as second if the weekend’s results go their way, whilst three points for the visitors would see them open up a gap on Horseman and his side with two games in hand.

LAST MEETING

Friday's clash sees the rearranged date for January's postponed fixture, due to take place at Snows Stadium.

The two sides last met in mid-October at the Sir Jack Hayward training ground, where Saints grabbed their first three points of the season.

Kazeem Olaigbe’s sixth minute penalty secured a deserved win for Horseman’s side, despite the scoreline remaining as it was through to the end.

Amongst the Saints side that day was Will Smallbone, who continued his injury comeback with a commanding performance in central midfield.
