Southampton B team defender Dynel Simeu has been nominated for October’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

After a difficult start to the season, Saints B turned a corner in Ocotber in what was an unbeaten month for Dave Horseman’s side.

Following a draw at home to Stoke City on the 1st, Saints went on to record three successive wins, thanks in part to Simeu and his back five who kept three clean sheets in the process.

Conceding just the once in four games during the month, Simeu is really starting to grow into his new club after signing in the summer from Chelsea’s Academy.

Joining Simeu on the shortlist is Jamal Baptise (West Ham), Anthony Elanga (Man United), Ziyad Larkeche (Fulham), Dilan Markanday (Tottenham), Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand (Arsenal) and Aaron Ramsey (Aston Villa).

The winner will be decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who based their selections on who PL2 club coaches picked out as the best display by an opponent in each of their league matches.
