Saints have hit a well-timed upturn in form as they went unbeaten in March with a draw and two victories.

It was a month of firsts, as Zach Awe headed his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with West Brom, before Joe O'Brien-Whitmarsh scored his maiden goals in back-to-back wins.

There was also goals in consecutive games for Sam Amo-Ameyaw and Sonnie Davis, as Saints romped to 5-1 and 4-0 victories against Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

Adam Asghar's side now sit in 16th position, occupying the final place in the play-off bracket with four games of the regular season to play.

Norwich are just one place above Saints in the table, only separated by goal difference with both sides on 20 points.

The Canaries have played one game more, however, and are in a spell of inconsistent form at the moment.

They have just one win in their last eight PL2 matches, which came at the beginning of March against Leeds United, as they suffered defeat against Reading in their most recent outing.

PREVIOUS MATCH

In the final game of last season, Saints' high-flying youngsters beat Norwich at Carrow Road in a win that ultimately secured their Premier League 2 Division 2 title.

Saints raced into a two-goal lead inside five minutes through Dom Ballard and Kamari Doyle, as Sam Amo-Ameyaw added a third before the break.

Doyle and Amo-Ameyaw notched a brace each with further strikes in the second half to put the result beyond doubt.
