This week @ St Mary's: March 3rd
Check out our latest weekly round-up as we offer you a comprehensive guide of everything that's going on inside Southampton Football Club...
SAINTS CONTINUE FINE FORM
Saints gave their fabulous February one final flourish with a 3-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
James Bree, Ryan Manning and Taylor Harwood-Bellis scored the goals – the first time in the club’s history that three defenders have scored in the same game.
It means Tonda Eckert’s side ended the month with five wins and a draw in all competitions, scoring 16 goals along the way.
SAINTS SET FOR FULHAM TRIP
Next up is a trip to Craven Cottage on Sunday (midday GMT), as Saints resume their FA Cup journey at Fulham.
A further 600 tickets were made available and have since sold out, taking Saints’ allocation to 4,800, with a place in the quarter-finals on the line.
Our league campaign will also continue on the road with further away games to follow at West Brom (Wednesday 11th March, 7.45pm GMT) and Coventry (Saturday 14th March, 12.30pm GMT – tickets have already sold out for this one).
CHARLES RELIVES LEICESTER LIMBS
Don’t miss our feature interview in The Dell with Shea Charles, as the midfield match-winner watched back his last-gasp goal at Leicester that completed the greatest comeback in Saints’ history.
The Northern Ireland international also spoke about his World Cup dreams and working alongside Saints legend Steven Davis, and his relationship with brother Pierce ahead of Saturday’s family reunion at Hillsborough.
ACADEMY TEAMS PLAY OUT ENTERTAINING DRAWS
Our Under-21s and Under-18s both drew 2-2 at Staplewood over the weekend.
The Under-21s were pegged back by a very late equaliser from visitors Everton on Friday afternoon, while the Under-18s were 2-0 up before Brighton fought back to claim a point on Saturday.
This week sees the Under-21s travel to Nottingham Forest on Friday (7pm GMT), while the Under-18s host Fulham on Saturday morning (11am GMT).
