Check out our latest weekly round-up as we offer you a comprehensive guide of everything that's going on inside Southampton Football Club...
SAINTS SET FOR HOME DOUBLEHEADER
Saints return to St Mary’s this weekend for the first of two home games in quick succession.
Starting with the visit of Hull to SO14 on Saturday (3pm GMT), Saints will follow up by hosting Sheffield United on Wednesday 21st January (7.45pm GMT).
Tickets for both matches are on general sale now.
SAINTS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS
Southampton survived a spirited comeback from League One outfit Doncaster Rovers to reach the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Cameron Bragg’s first senior goal set the tone in a productive first half, with Cameron Archer and Kuryu Matsuki topping up a formidable opening 45 minutes.
Doncaster’s Matthew Pearson and Jordan Gibson piled on the pressure with goals before the hour mark, but the visitors hung on to deny Rovers a late leveller, setting up a home tie with Leicester in the fourth round to be played across the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February.
Saints' participation in the cup means our Championship trip to Leicester, originally scheduled for Saturday 14th February, will now be rearranged in order to accommodate the cup meeting between the two teams.
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS SINCE ‘76
The Doncaster cup tie saw Saints sporting a new look, as a special commemorative shirt was worn for the 3-2 victory in South Yorkshire, created to honour the 50th anniversary of our iconic 1976 FA Cup victory and the players who made it possible.
The limited-edition yellow and blue shirt is a modern remake of the classic away shirt worn in the FA Cup Final on 1st May 1976, paying tribute to the most celebrated moment in Saints history.
The shirt subtly includes the signatures of the 15 players who featured in the cup campaign, as well as manager Lawrie McMenemy, ensuring they are forever honoured.
The shirt will cost £120 and will come in an individually numbered box. The goalkeeper shirt, retailing at £80, and the associated leisurewear collection will also be available to buy immediately online and in-store. 10% of all profits from the sale of the commemorative shirts will be split amongst the players that featured in the 1976 FA Cup campaign.
SAINTS TRIO DEPART
Gavin Bazunu completed a loan move to Stoke City on Tuesday morning, take Saints’ January departures to three.
The Irishman will spend the second half of the Championship campaign with the Potters after Saints secured the signing of another goalkeeper, Daniel Peretz, on loan from Bayern Munich last week.
Damion Downs has returned to Germany to join Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on loan, while Ronnie Edwards has departed for QPR on a permanent transfer.
WOMEN MAINTAIN SOUTH COAST BRAGGING RIGHTS
Backed by a club record league attendance, Southampton FC Women started 2026 with a dominant derby win over Portsmouth in the Barclays Women's Super League 2.
In front of 7,561 supporters at St Mary's, Saints maintained their streak in the south coast derby as they made it 10 matches unbeaten against their local rivals.
First-half goals from Jess Simpson and Ellie Brazil gave Saints a welcome advantage, before fine finishes from Mary Bashford and Aimee Palmer secured the win in the second period.
Next up for Saints is the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, with Bristol City the visitors to Silverlake Stadium.

Meanwhile, Ashanti Akpan has returned to Chelsea following her loan spell on the south coast in which she made 15 appearances for Saints in all competitions.
SAINTS LEGENDS TO FACE MANCHESTER UNITED LEGENDS
Southampton Football Club is proud to announce a special Legends match as part of the club’s celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the club winning the FA Cup in 1976.
On Saturday 28th March, a Southampton Legends XI will return to the pitch to take on Manchester United Legends, bringing a classic fixture back to St Mary’s Stadium to honour the team that delivered the most memorable achievement in Saints history.
The event will celebrate the players who defined the 1976 cup run, the supporters who shared it, and the legacy that has lived for generations. Tickets are now on sale via the club’s official website.
