Check out our latest weekly round-up as we offer you a comprehensive guide of everything that's going on inside Southampton Football Club...

SAINTS SEAL FIFTH-ROUND SPOT

James Bree was Southampton’s extra-time hero as a Saints side packed with youngsters saw off Leicester City to reach the last 16 of the Emirates FA Cup.

Saints finished the tie with five Academy graduates on the pitch, as Cyle Larin’s first-half penalty was cancelled out by Oliver Skipp’s acrobatic finish before James Bree headed home Ryan Manning’s free-kick in the 109th minute.

Saints will be ball number 4 in the fifth-round draw, which takes place on Monday evening. Fans can watch on TNT Sports 1, discovery+ and on the TNT Sports YouTube channel from approximately 6.35pm GMT.

With ties to take place around the weekend of Saturday 7th March, Saints’ Championship home game with Norwich will require a new date.

ST MARY'S SET FOR LONDON DOUBLEHEADER

Next up for Saints is a St Mary’s doubleheader, starting with the visit of Charlton on Saturday afternoon (3pm GMT).

A run of 13 points from the last 15 available in league action has left Saints just two points outside the Championship play-off places.

Another London side then make the journey to the south coast on Tuesday 24th February (8pm GMT), as QPR provide the opposition under the lights.

WOMEN ENJOY BIG WIN AT BRISTOL CITY

A 2-0 victory at Ashton Gate moved Southampton FC Women within two points of third-placed Bristol City in WSL2.

Stoppage-time strikes at the end of each half from Tegan McGowan and Ellie Brazil secured three vital points for Simon Parker’s side in the promotion race.

It means the team leave the league campaign on a positive note ahead of a three-week hiatus, with Saints next in action at home to Birmingham on Sunday 15th March (2pm GMT).

UNDER-21S HELD AT NORWICH

Southampton Under-21s played out a 1-1 draw with Norwich City in Premier League 2 on Friday afternoon.

Norwich took the lead within the first minute when Elliot Myles swept home from close range.

Saints enjoyed the best spells of the game after this and, after seeing Joe O’Brien-Whitmarsh hit the crossbar in the first half, they found their equaliser in the 51st minute when Thierry Rohart-Brown curled home superbly to confirm a share of the spoils.

Next up for Adam Lallana’s side is a home clash with Middlesbrough at Staplewood on Friday 20th February (1pm GMT), while our Under-18s, who did not play over the weekend, travel to Chelsea on Saturday 21st February (11am GMT).

COVENTRY TRIP CHOSEN FOR TV

Saints’ trip to Coventry City in March has been handed an earlier kick-off time of 12.30pm GMT, having been picked by Sky Sports for live coverage.

Our trip to the West Midlands, which was originally scheduled for 3pm GMT, will be shown on Sky Sports Football on Saturday 14th March.

GOALKEEPER JONES SIGNS SHORT-TERM DEAL

Saints have completed the signing of goalkeeper Jamie Jones on a contract until the end of the season.

The experienced shot-stopper has amassed more than 350 appearances in the Football League, with the 36-year-old’s former clubs including Leyton Orient, Wigan Athletic and Preston North End.

With Alex McCarthy undergoing surgery on a wrist injury, Jones will provide backup to Daniel Peretz and George Long, restoring the numbers in Saints’ goalkeeping ranks in McCarthy’s absence.
