Date set for Leicester cup tie
Southampton’s Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie at home to Leicester will take place on Saturday 14th February (3pm GMT).
It will be the first meeting between the clubs in the competition since the 2021 semi-final at Wembley, when the Foxes triumphed with a solitary goal and went on to lift the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
Both sides reached the fourth round by seeing off lower league opposition away from home, with Saints’ 3-2 win at Doncaster following Leicester’s 2-0 victory at Cheltenham earlier in the day.
The Foxes visited St Mary’s in November in the Sky Bet Championship, with Saints running out 3-0 winners.
The cup draw means the league meeting at the King Power Stadium, ironically scheduled for the same day, will need to be rearranged. A new date will be confirmed in due course.
