After playing a key part in Southampton Under-21s' recent form, youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw has been shortlisted for Premier League 2’s March Player of the Month award.

Saints' Under-21s went unbeaten in March with a draw and two dominant victories, which saw them move up the table into the PL2 playoffs.

Amo-Ameyaw impressed in particular, with two goals and three assists in those three games, scoring against Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

It's the 17-year-old's first nomination for the league's monthly individual accolade, as he has stood out since returning to the Under-21s side more regularly in recent weeks.

The rest of the March shortlist are Sonny Finch (Middlesbrough), Harrison Jones (Sunderland), James Miley (Newcastle United), Fabian Mrozek (Liverpool), Adrion Pajaziti (Fulham), Silko Thomas (Leicester City), Dylan Williamson (Chelsea).
