Princewill Ehibhatiomhan joins Saints on first pro contract

Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Princewill Ehibhatiomhan who has penned his first professional contract, keeping him at the club until June 2025.

After rising through the youth ranks at Reading since the age of seven, the 17-year-old joins Saints after previously impressing on a trial period with the Under-18s squad.

The striker will join straight up with the Academy for the remainder of the current campaign with his deal keeping him on the South Coast for two years.

Speaking after sealing the move, Ehibhatiomham said:

“It’s a great feeling, I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited. I really enjoyed [the trial period] the environment was good so it made the decision easier.”

“I want to start playing for the team and score goals, work my way up and take opportunities as they come.”

On welcoming a new talent to the academy setup, Head of Youth Recruitment Dan Rice added:

“Princewill is an exciting centre-forward that has excellent attacking characteristics and a prolific eye for goal, he’s a player that will bring an additional edge and firepower to the academy and will quickly add an extra attacking presence for the club in the future.

“He had a number of other opportunities to sign at other clubs, so we are delighted that we’ve been able to acquire him and look forward to him joining Southampton.”
