Maitland-Niles a doubt for Brentford clash
Rubén Sellés has confirmed Ainsley Maitland-Niles could miss out on Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Brentford at St Mary’s.
Maitland-Niles is the only fresh injury concern for Saints, with the boss confirming they will assess his fitness ahead of Southampton’s midweek contest.
“We still have Juan Larios and Tino [Livramento] out of the squad with long-term injuries,” confirmed the Spaniard.
“Ainsley Maitland-Niles we will test tomorrow morning and see if he’s available. I don’t really know any more, it’s on the medical staff. I’m waiting their answer tomorrow morning.”
Sellés was also keen to reiterate the importance of utilising the full squad as the season reaches a critical point.
“You’re part of a team, you need to get involved, there is no discussion. Even if you’re not in the squad."
