Matchday Travel Information: Southampton Central Station to undergo work

By SFC Media time Tue 14 Feb Club

For the rest of the season, fans using Southampton Central Station to get to and from St Mary’s Stadium on game days will need to use the north side of the station for pick ups, drop offs, buses and taxis.

It’s because a £5.5m redevelopment is taking place on the south side. Pedestrian access will be continued on both sides of the station and you’ll still be able to get to the upside and downside car parks.

However, drop off/pick up areas, buses and taxis will all be located only on the north side (Mayflower side).

The work, which is partially funded by a £1.3m investment by South Western Railway, includes a revamp of facilities, including better access to sustainable travel options and improved taxi rank, drop off facilities and car parking.

If you want to read more about the redevelopments, Southampton City Council has published an article with further details on its website.
