Sunderland vs Saints

Barclays Women’s Championship

Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground

Sunday 12th February

For ticket details, see below

A somewhat struggling Sunderland AFC Ladies play host to Saints at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground in the Barclays Women’s Championship on Sunday.

Saints come into the fixture off the back of a composed 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at St Mary’s which cemented their place in third, just behind Bristol City and London City Lionesses.

Tenth place Sunderland come in off the back of a meeting with league chasers London City, in which they suffered a 3-1 defeat at Princes Park, with Elizabeta Ejupi scoring a late consolation goal for the travelling side.

With Saints without a game for the two weekends following due to cup scheduling and the international break, it’s a big opportunity to put points on the board as it heads towards the business end of the season.

Saints will be back in the teal away kit as they take to the pitch in Sunderland.

It was a cagey encounter as Saints beat the Black Cats 1-0 at St Mary’s, with an Ella Pusey goal making the difference.

MANAGER’S NOTES
“It’s another long trip to Sunderland, but we’ve prepared well for that on the training pitch this week and the girls are looking forward to another competitive game.

“I was pleased with our performance against Crystal Palace. We have to keep our levels high now in order to make sure we get the most out of games.

“With the international break ahead of a tough run of fixtures in March, it’s an important place to go and put in a strong performance."

Tickets are still available to purchase directly from Sunderland AFC with Adults priced at £8 and concessions between £3.50 and £1.
