Southampton FC Women continued preparations ready for league return with a 1-0 win over Barclays Women’s Super League side Brighton.

Saints got off to the perfect start as Ella Morris headed home after just three minutes and they were able to hold out against a strong Brighton side to come away with the win.

With league action against Lewes just around the corner at St Mary’s, the game provided a top-tier test for Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side, who last fell to a 1-0 Cup defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in December.
