A quick turnaround for Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side sees them back in action at St Mary’s against bottom of the league Coventry United.

Saints come off the back of another win at the weekend as a second Ella Pusey goal in as many games saw the home side secure all three points against Sunderland, nearly 3000 fans cheering them on.

Coventry United are yet to pick up a point but come into the fixture off the back of a closely fought 3-2 defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

The fixture is the last before the international break and gives Saints the opportunity to cement their place in third place.

Saints will be in their iconic red and white strip as they take on Coventry United at St Mary’s.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side met Coventry United at their home in their opening game of the FA Continental League Cup.

A much-changed Saints side fell to a 2-0 defeat, as their lack of clinical edge saw United capitalise and score two quickfire goals.

“It’s been a quick turnaround from Sunday’s game to this fixture against Coventry United, but the girls are excited to get out there again.

“The support for our return to St Mary’s was incredible and pushed the team on to get another three points on the board.

“Sunderland and now Coventry United are both currently at the lower end of the table, but Sunday’s game and our Conti Cup defeat show that we need to be at our best to compete.”

Tickets for Wednesday night’s clash with Coventry United are still available to purchase, either online or at St Mary’s.
