Southampton Football Club is delighted to welcome Le Five Centre De Foot to its portfolio of International Academy Partners, marking it the club’s first partnership in Mauritius.

The partnership will see Southampton FC working with Le Five’s Football Academy supporting the development of young players, both on & off the pitch.

Mark Abrahams, Director of Business & Community Development commented: “We’re delighted to be working with an organisation that’s committed to developing the game in Mauritius as well as the players within their programme. Beyond the football development programme, we’re looking forward to developing new and innovative ways to connect with the Mauritius community and encourage the next generation to be the best version of themselves and to fulfil their potential."

The partnership will see a range of exciting opportunities for the Le Five community to engage with Southampton's Coach and Player Development Programme. Areas of focus include access to the SFC Curriculum, the online resource library, and Coach Education/Player Development Webinars.

Southampton FC Academy staff will also visit Mauritius each year to work with the coaches and players, with opportunities for both staff and players to visit Southampton through SFC’s Player Development Tour Programme.

Le Five Centre De Foot Director Salim Nobeebux added: “It is a privilege to partner with one of Europe’s leading clubs when it comes to Youth Development and Talent Identification. Our commitment is directed towards making an impact in Mauritius on and off the pitch.

“Right at the start, Southampton FC understood our vision and ambitions for Mauritius. We are delighted to have a like-minded partner that will support us through every step of our long-term goal, which is to contribute to the further development of our island’s football ecosystem.

Aside from the football development aspect, we will be providing a broad range of different opportunities for people willing to make a career in the football industry. This partnership will bring development via football to a new level in Mauritius while enabling our players to learn from the best.”

Southampton FC has a growing portfolio of International Academy partners which supports like-minded clubs and schools with their ambitions on and off the pitch. For further details on the Le Five partnership or for enquiries contact [email protected].
