Saints tackle Football’s Toughest Opponent in new Sky Sports documentary

By SFC Media time Sat 08 Oct The Halo Effect

There can be no division when it comes to climate change. With a quarter of professional stadiums in the top four leagues under threat of annual flooding – or being completely submerged – by 2050 the football community is coming together to tackle its toughest opponent yet.

New Sky Sports documentary, Football's Toughest Opponent, airs for the first time this Sunday. This special look at how football is fighting back features a host of familiar faces for Saints fans, featuring – former Southampton FC Women's player Katie Rood, Men's First Team player Nathan Tella, Kegs Chauke from the Academy and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

We are proud to be leading the way when it comes to environmental, corporate, fan and social responsibilities. Our forward-thinking Halo Effect sustainability strategy is our commitment to play the right way today, for a better tomorrow. A programme of positive action that saw us named joint-third greenest club in the 2021 Premier League Sustainability Table.

Catch the full documentary on Sky Sports Premier League at 7.30pm BST on Sunday 9th October. You can also learn more about our Halo Effect sustainability strategy – and what it means for our fight against climate change – here.
