For the second consecutive week, Dynel Simeu earned a Man of the Match performance for Tranmere Rovers as they claimed victory over Walsall. This and more in this week’s Loan Watch …

It was a stellar performance from Simeu, who helped Tranmere keep a clean-sheet in a tight-fought battle at Bescot Stadium, with Elliott Nevitt scoring a dramatic 96th minute winner to secure three points for Micky Melton’s side.

Rovers also secured victory in the Football League Trophy in midweek, with Simeu once again playing the full 90 for the League Two outfit. With the scores tied at 2-2 at full-time, Rovers emerged 5-4 victors after penalties against Bolton.

In League One, Kegs Chauke came off the bench in Exeter City’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers, with Matt Taylor’s side now sitting 10th in the league.

With the Premier League and Championship on hold due to the international break, attention turned to non-league football this weekend.

In National League South, Jack Bycroft earned another start for Taunton Town, keeping a clean sheet in their goalless draw with Chelmsford City.

Another victory came for Will Tizzard and Chippenham Town, who netted two goals to Dulwich Hamlet’s one.

In the National League, Jake Vokins played his part in Woking’s win over Solihull Moors, seeing them rise to seventh in the league standings.

There was success in the Football League Trophy for Port Vale, who raced to a 4-0 victory over Shrewsbury, with Thierry Small playing the full 90 for Darrell Clarke’s side.

Finally, Harvey Woods was brought off the bench in the 72nd minute as Poole Town hit five goals past Yate Town.
