Saints return to action on Sunday after a prolonged break from league football. Crystal Palace are their opponents, and with two wins from two for the Eagles, Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side will be looking to dampen the mood at Selhurst Park.

Palace’s two wins came from a tight 1-0 victory over neighbours London City Lionesses in the first game of the season, followed by a comprehensive 3-0 win over Coventry United.

Saints fell to defeat in their first game of the season to another London side in the form of Charlton Athletic, before comeback goals from Ella Morris and Laura Rafferty secured the side’s first ever Championship point away at Lewes.

MANAGER’S NOTES
"Crystal Palace have started the league well, getting two wins from two in their first games. They’ve built a new-look team over summer and they’ll be keen to show what they can do with those players.

"Playing at Selhurst Park will be an occasion for them, but we have to go into the game with the same mentality and prepare the way that we always do.

"The second half Lewes performance is the level that we need to be week-in, week-out, and if the girls keep up that work rate, there’s no reason why we can’t get something out of Sunday’s game."
