Southampton Football Club can confirm striker Nathan Tella has completed a season-long loan move to Championship outfit Burnley.

The 23-year-old will look to strengthen the Clarets’ attacking options as they target an immediate return to the Premier League under the guidance of new manager Vincent Kompany.

Currently sat in third, Burnley have started their league campaign with victory over Huddersfield and a draw against Luton, heading into a top-of-the-table clash against Watford this weekend.

Making 18 appearances for Saints in an injury hit 2021/22, Tella will now head to Lancashire for a first taste of Championship action, with everyone at Saints wishing Nathan well for the rest of the season.
