Having faced German Bundesliga opposition on Saturday in the form of RB Leipzig, Saints will now prepare for their next pre-season test against SK Austria Klagenfurt of the Austrian Bundesliga.
Losing 3-1 to Leipzig - with Adam Armstrong on target - Southampton will hope to round off their training camp in Austria with a confidence-boosting win ahead of clashes with Watford, AS Monaco and Villarreal upon their return to England.
Taking on Klagenfurt for the first time, the Austrian Bundesliga side finished sixth in last season’s competition and will be a particularly notable opponent for manager Ralph Hasenhüttl, as his son, Patrick, is part of their squad.
Peter Pacult's side started their 2022/23 campaign on Friday, claiming an emphatic 8-1 win over SC Admira Dornbirn 1946 in the first round of ÖFB Cup.
