With Barclays Women’s Championship fixtures revealed, Southampton FC Women will welcome Charlton Athletic in their debut game.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side will host the Addicks in the opening game of the season on Sunday 21st August, having also faced them during their pre-season programme.

Another familiar fixture sees Saints travel along the south coast to The Dripping Pan to take on Lewes in their first away fixture at the end of August, with the return fixture set for a stark weather contrast on Sunday 15th January.

September sees Saints welcome Durham, before two away trips to Crystal Palace and promotion hopefuls Bristol City round off the month.

A tough test kicks off October, with former Barclays Women’s Super League side Birmingham City travelling down to Southampton, before Saints face Sheffield United and Sunderland, away and at home respectively - the former being the closing fixture of the season on Sunday 30th April.

Saints will play two league fixtures in November, as the calendar makes way for cup action. The great escapees Coventry United travel to Southampton, while a long journey to Blackburn Rovers follows the subsequent weekend.

December sees just the one Barclays Women’s Championship fixture for Saints - as the Men’s FIFA World Cup and women’s domestic cups come back into play - a festive trip to Essex to face London City Lionesses the sole survivor in the calendar.

Moving into 2023, the aforementioned home fixture against Lewes opens the New Year before a long away-day as Saints head to Maiden Castle Sports Park to take on Durham.

Saints welcome Crystal Palace in the first game of February, with Sunderland playing hosts to Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side on Sunday 12th February.

A busy March sees the Women take on Charlton in the reverse fixture of that opening game, Blackburn Rovers at home and then Bristol City at home over Women’s Football Weekend on Sunday 26th March.

April rounds off the Barclays Women’s Championship season, with a league game nearly every Sunday. A trip to Birmingham City on Sunday 2nd April sets the tone for a tough few closing matches, with a home fixture against last year’s runners-up London City Lionesses and a trip to Coventry United.

Saints fans can roar the side over the line of their debut season, as Sheffield United visit Southampton for the final game of the season on Sunday 30th April.
