Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu won his second cap for Catalonia as the midfielder played 45 minutes in a 6-0 thrashing of Jamaica last night.

Catalonia were playing their first fixture since 2019, when Romeu won his first cap against Venezuela, and the long-serving Saint was handed his first start against the Reggae Boyz in Girona.

Romeu played the first half of the friendly game in which the hosts ran riot, with former Everton and Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu scoring a hat-trick before the interval.

A raft of substitutions ensued, with the starting XI all replaced by the 52nd minute, before Catalonia added two further goals to complete the rout.
