It was a largely successful bank holiday weekend for Southampton’s loanees across the leagues. This and more in this week’s Loan Watch …

Starting in League Two, Will Ferry put in a Player of the Match worthy display as Crawley Town claimed a 1-0 victory over Walsall.

Victory against Walsall followed an impressive 2-1 away win at Newport County on Friday, where Ferry also featured for the full 90 minutes.

Crawley made it three wins out of three after coming under new ownership, seeing them rise to 12th in the current league standings.

Elsewhere in League Two, it was a weekend of mixed results for Carlisle United. It was a disappointing start to the bank holiday for Paul Simpson’s side, who fell to a 1-0 defeat at Walsall on Friday.

With Dynel Simeu retaining his place in the starting XI in both fixtures, victory soon came on Monday as Omari Patrick’s goal saw them claim victory over Mansfield Town, resulting in United securing their place in League Two next season as they reached mathematical safety.

In non-league, Jack Bycroft kept his place between the sticks as Dorchester Town found themselves on either end of a 1-0 score line, claiming victory at Salisbury before falling to defeat against Yate.
