Saturday sees Dave Horseman's side's third outing at St Mary's this season, hoping to replicate the performance that got them three points over Middlesbrough in SO14 last-time-out.

It also provides the perfect occasion for Saints to bounce back in Premier League 2, having fallen to a 3-2 comeback defeat against Birmingham City on Monday night at the training ground.

Forest's Monday night was certainly contrasting, beating a sorry Reading side 7-0 at the Academy; Will Swan claiming a hat-trick amongst the strikes.

Things continue to prove tight at the top of the division. A win for Saints would see them rise to fourth if other results go their way, the same position their visitors could find themselves in with three points.

LAST MEETING

The two sides last met at the very start of the current season, with Forest hosting in late August at Impact Arena.

Saints dominated the game for large periods, but were unable to find that final pass in a game that eventually ended goalless.

Ultimately they were frustrated by a strong Jordan Wright performance in the Forest goal.

The hosts' chances were sparse, but they came inches away from the win in stoppage time after a crazy goalmouth scramble.

MANAGER'S NOTES

"Out of all the game we have left this one is probably the toughest," said Horseman on the upcoming test.

"They're a much older group, so anyone who can get down and support us, we'll need it.

"They are 21, 22 year olds, some really good players. Two good front men who score a lot of goals.

"It will be a lot more physical and fingers crossed, if we create the chances like we did against Birmingham and take them, then we'll be fine."
