Young defender Dynel Simeu will spend the rest of the season in League Two after completing a loan move to Carlisle United.

The highly-rated defender signed for the club in the summer from Chelsea's Academy, going on to be an important figure in Dave Horseman's B team set-up.

After 20 appearances and two goals, late December and early January saw Simeu break into the first team environment; he made the bench for the Premier League wins over West Ham and Brentford as well as the draw with Tottenham and the extra-time FA Cup win at Swansea.

19-year-old Simeu will now get his first taste of regular senior football at League Two Carlisle United, as the Blues aim to continue their push for survival.

The club wishes Dynel well for the remainder of the campaign and looks forward to monitoring his progress over the next few months.
