Small nominated for PL2 Player of the Month

Southampton B team defender Thierry Small has been nominated for Premier League 2's November Player of the Month.

After having a disrupted pre-season, the 17-year-old summer signing from Everton has found his stride in recent weeks with the club's B team.

His run of form started with a goal during the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at the end of October, before Small helped his side to a further two wins from three PL2 games during November, including another goal from full-back during the 5-0 hiding of Newcastle.

With two goals and three clean sheets from four games across all competitions, it's certainly been a fruitful month for the youngster.

Small has been nominated alongside Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Ziyad Larkeche (Fulham), Sonny Perkins (West Ham), Luke Plange (Derby), Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace), Jon Rowe (Norwich) and Harvey White (Tottenham).

The winner will be decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who based their selections on who PL2 club coaches picked out as the best display by an opponent in each of their league matches.
