Southampton Football Club proudly presented its latest Forever Saint award to Kelvin Davis ahead of Saturday's home Premier League match against Leeds United.
The 45-year-old has been a continuous presence with the club since signing as a player in 2006, going on to make 301 appearances as a goakeeper, before moving into the backroom staff, where he is now a First-Team Assistant Coach.
Davis arrived at St Mary's from Sunderland when Saints were in the Championship, playing for ten seasons at St Mary's, with his playing career wrapping up on an emotional testimonial night in May 2016.
He served as long-time club captain, and was a key figure in the club's rise from the foot of the League One table to the Premier League and ultimately European football.
Davis's dad, Geoff, accepted the prize on his behalf at half-time, with Davis's commitments to the team at that point meaning he was unable to receive the award personally in front of the supporters.
He joins Franny Benali, Glenn Cockerill and John Corbett as the first recipients of the award, which celebrates incredible contributions made to the club and community by ex-players, club servants and community champions.
