Elyounoussi helps Norway to important draw

Mohamed Elyounoussi helped Norway to a 1-1 draw with Turkey in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Losing the reverse fixture 3-0, it was an impressive display from Norway away from home who claim a valuable point in Group G.

Turkey went ahead after just 6 minutes at Sukru Saracoglu through a Kerem Aktürkoglu right footed shot from close range.

The visitors searched for an opening in the game, with Saints forward Elyounoussi playing a pivotal role before the visitors drew level just before the break thanks to Kristian Thorstvedt.

Elyounoussi nearly claimed victory for his nation as his header from close range bounced wide in the 96th minute.

Norway sit second in Group G, now facing Montenegro on Monday as they aim to maintain their impressive form in their qualifying campaign.
