Romeu: We need solutions

Oriol Romeu feels Southampton have to find a solution to break their winless streak after Wolves inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side at St Mary’s on Sunday.

Although a first defeat since the opening day loss at Everton, a first win of the campaign remains elusive with Saints also failing to score in their last three Premier League outings.

Commenting after Raúl Jiménez’s second half strike proved to be the difference, Romeu said:

“It’s a tough one. We’re too many games without a win, with no goal. It’ hard to be positive right now but we will have to find a way and find solutions. That’s how we have to approach it.

“In terms of chances and football created, I think we probably were the better team, but that doesn’t win you games and sometimes being clinical does, and that’s what they’ve had and we haven’t.

“We get in good positions and areas in and around the box, but the ball isn’t going in at the minute.

“Unfortunately, we’ve been in this situation before and we know these things change, but you have to work really hard. This league doesn’t give anything away.”
