Southampton Football Club is trialling new matchday measures for the 2021/22 season, with the aim of making entry to St Mary’s for home and away fans as smooth and safe as possible.

The changes are being introduced to help accommodate segregated queueing outside the away turnstiles in the Northam Stand, when a section of the North Car Park will be closed to home supporters ahead of home fixtures, one hour before kick-off. These measures have been developed through consultation with the local Safety Advisory Group.

This will mean that there is no through route for supporters behind the Northam Stand, which may affect usual access routes for some supporters from this time. The club asks that fans access the turnstiles they require for entry by following a route around the rear of the Kingsland, Chapel and Itchen Stands.

Supporters with allocated parking in the North Car Park are asked to ensure their vehicle is parked before the affected area is closed one hour before kick-off ahead of home fixtures this season.

The club’s goal remains to get all fans safely into the stadium before kick-off and it is therefore important to trial a revised queueing process for away fans, although we understand that these changes may cause an inconvenience to supporters, and we appreciate the assistance of fans as we trial these changes.
