Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side have been in imperious early season form, collecting maximum points from their opening four matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just one.

Last weekend saw more than half of the goal tally accrued, with Gillingham dispatched 9-0 at Snows Stadium with five different scorers getting on the scoresheet.

Heading to Hounslow sat top of the table, Saints head into Sunday's encounter as favourites with the hosts yet to register a point in 2021/22.

In fact, Hounslow failed to score in their opening three defeats at the hands of London Bees, Gillingham and Ipswich Town.

MANAGER'S NOTES

“Hounslow are another team that have been in the league a while but have been in that mid to bottom half of the standings.

“We have to go into the game with the same kind of mentality, the same commitment as we did last week against Gillingham. We know they’ll cause us a problem but we’ve got to ride through that and get into our game.

“It’s another opportunity for us to be challenged by teams in this league. They’ve got a core of players who’ve been around the group for a long time so they’ll have a real togetherness and a real sense of wanting to keep improving.

“It’s amazing to see and hear the fans back. The girls really appreciate that we had supporters at all the games so far. They’re really committed and really positive about this group. We missed them and for me we’re loving having them back.

“We want them to spread the word, get more families in and more supporters. Keep the feeling going that this team is a really big part of Southampton Football Club.”
