Southampton are preparing for their second game of this week’s pre-season training camp in Wales, concluding the trip with a friendly against Swansea on Saturday.
Swansea City vs Saints
Saturday 31st July (3pm BST)
SETTING THE SCENE
Saints are looking to build on an impressive display against Swansea’s Welsh rivals on Tuesday night, having hit four goals without reply at Cardiff last time out.
Theo Walcott, Moussa Djenepo and Ché Adams (2) were on target for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side, who were in ruthless mood.
Saints now have just two weeks until opening game of the Premier League season at Everton on Saturday 14th August.
For Swansea, the Championship campaign kicks off even sooner, at Blackburn next weekend.
This year’s beaten play-off finalists have so far chalked up 2-1 victories over lower league opponents Forest Green and Plymouth in pre-season.
Swansea were due to face Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, but the match was cancelled due to Covid-19 cases at the Welsh club, who are currently being led by former player Alan Tate on an interim basis following the departure of head coach Steve Cooper last week.
