For the first time in history England and Scotland drew 0-0 at Wembley, with both teams having to wait until the final game in Group D to determine their place in the Euro 2020 knockout stages.

Nothing could separate the two sides as the final whistle was blown after a passionate battle at Wembley.

Southampton’s Ché Adams started for Steve Clarke’s side and it didn’t take long for him to make his mark on the game, with his shot on target being blocked by John Stones within four minutes.

Scotland continued to battle hard, denying England on a number of occasions. John Stones’ header was the closest we came to a goal on Wembley turf.

As the clock ticked over the hour mark and with the scores still tied, both Scotland and England launched their own attacks forward to try and assert change.

Starting on the bench, Stuart Armstrong was introduced in the 76th minute as Scotland aimed to clinch a decisive late goal over England.

Soon after Armstrong’s introduction, Andy Robertson found the feet of Ché Adams at the back post for Scotland but the Saints man failed to control the ball and his shot blazed over.

Adams appeared to be the difference for a Scotland side that struggled against Czech Republic in their Euro 2020 opener, earning applause from the crowd as he was replaced by Kevin Nesbit upon 86 minutes.

With other Group D members Czech Republic and Croatia also drawing this evening, it will go down to the last round of games to determine who will make the knockout stages. Scotland will face Croatia on Tuesday 22 June (8pm BST).
