It was a successful Sunday all round for Southampton’s international representatives, as they continue to prepare for Euro 2020.

After missing Scotland’s 2-2 draw with the Netherlands in the week, Ché Adams returned to Steve Clarke’s starting XI in fine form.

A nice link up with Lyndon Dykes resulted in Adams breaking the deadlock against Luxembourg, netting his second goal in four international appearances.

Adams found the back of the net a second time but his effort was denied by the referee.

Stuart Armstrong was named on the bench but did not feature after playing the full 90 minutes against the Netherlands on Wednesday.

James Ward-Prowse featuring for England against Romania

James Ward-Prowse started in Gareth Southgate’s England side to face Romania, putting in a stellar performance until his substitution at 65 minutes.

Despite not being named in Southgate’s 26-man squad heading to Euro 2020, Ward-Prowse could be named after Trent Alexander Arnold’s withdrawal.

Jannik Vestergaard was named on the bench for Denmark but did not feature in their 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
