Striker Ché Adams is ready for a big summer with Scotland, as preparations continue ahead of EURO 2020 later this month.

Handed the number 10 shirt for tournament, the Saints striker will be looking to continue his rapid ascent on the international stage, after only making his debut in March.

Called up by Steve Clarke for three World Cup qualifiers, Adams produced a goal and an assist in his three appearances and will now make history, as Scotland compete in a major tournament for the first time since the 1998 World Cup.

With Scotland’s EURO 2020 campaign beginning on June 14th against Czech Republic, Adams is looking to build on his March experience with the national team.

“It was an unbelievable feeling getting my first goal,” he told Premier League Productions. “While I was away it was really nice to take in everything.

“It was good to meet different people as well, at the same time as learning. I was almost coming in there as an experienced player.

“But as I said, I enjoyed it massively and I’m looking forward to the summer now.”

Drawn in Group D alongside England, the clash with the Three Lions at Wembley Stadium on June 18th is the standout fixture for both nations.

A first meeting between the two countries at a major tournament since 1996, Adams is already looking forward to the encounter.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to has just told me to put that in my diary. It’s a game I’m looking forward to and we’ll see what happens.”
