As part of International Women’s Day, Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse has paid homage to an inspirational source in his life.

Marked annually on March 8th, the day is a global event celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Significant activity is witnessed worldwide and as part of the club’s day of celebrations, Ward-Prowse paid tribute to his own source of inspiration.

“An influential woman in my life is my fiancé, Olivia,” he said. “She gives me continued support through difficult times, through good times and is an amazing mother to my son.

“She’s an incredibly influential woman and someone that I’m very lucky to have in my life.”
