Sheffield United vs Southampton

Bramall Lane

Premier League

Saturday 6 March, 3pm GMT

Referee: Paul Tierney

Assistants: Ian Hussin, Sian Massey-Ellis

Fourth official: Geoff Eltringham

VAR: David Coote

Assistant VAR: Timothy Wood

The fixture will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Saints will be wearing their blue away kit for their trip to South Yorkshire.

Saints are still on the hunt for their second three points of 2021 and will be hoping Ralph Hasenhüttl’s 100th game in charge will end in a win.

Sheffield United had a particularly rocky start to their 2020/21 campaign, which means they still sit at the bottom of the Premier League table.

United did manage to pull off a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in the week, despite being reduced to ten men in the 57th minute.

These two sides met for the reverse fixture in December, where saints raced to a 3-0 victory with goals from Ché Adams, Stuart Armstrong and Nathan Redmond.

TEAM NEWS

Things are starting to look up for Hasenhüttl and his men, as Kyle Walker-Peters, Ibrahima Diallo and Takumi Minamino all returned to training this week.

While Theo Walcott remains sidelined, the boss hopes he will return to the side after the international break.

For Sheffield United, Jagielka is out after picking up a red card against Aston Villa in the week.

Wilder has a large amount of injury issues to contend with as Jayden Bogle, Jack Rodwell, Sander Berge, Chris Basham, John Egan and Jack Robinson are also sidelined.

"They started the season on the front foot and went top I think for a small period - obvious quality but when you lose key players and momentum this is what can happen.

Talented manager and a good group of players."

"We know this, it's a Premier League game and it's difficult, and for us even more when we haven't won since a few games.

This is the reason why we are very warned what we have to expect there, and the players accept this and will fight for the win."

A former Saint himself, Billy Sharp has been a standout figure for Sheffield United in an otherwise disappointing season for Chris Wilder's men.

The striker has already netted five goals this season and will be looking to add to that tally against his former employer.

Despite Saints’ recent run of form, youngster Nathan Tella has shown real promise.

Featuring in all 3 of Southampton’s recent fixtures, it’s clear Tella can make an impact on the game whether he’s starting it or coming off the bench.
