Goals scored by James Ward-Prowse and Takumi Minamino against Newcastle United and Chelsea respectively have been shortlisted for February's Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The captain hit a textbook free-kick into the top-left corner of the net at St James' Park, maintaining his title as Southampton's, and the league's, ultimate set-piece specialist.

Minamino was on target during Saints' clash with Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea at St Mary's last month, which ended one apiece.

The Japanese international was picked out expertly by Nathan Redmond and showed immeasurable composure to fool both Edouard Mendy and Cesar Azpilicueta, before finding the net with the outside of his right boot.

Both strikes are joined by contenders from across the Premier League, including João Moutinho vs Arsenal, Bruno Fernandes vs Everton, Mo Salah vs Leicester City, Matt Lowton vs Crystal Palace, Riyad Mahrez vs Everton and Jean-Philippe Mateta vs Crystal Palace.
