There was a sense of déjà vu for Southampton as Wolves mounted a second-half comeback to snatch three points at St Mary’s for the second season running.

It was in January 2020 that Saints saw a two-goal lead at the interval wiped out by a resurgent Wolves side, and 13 months later the visitors were similarly ruthless, this time overturning a 1-0 deficit with two second-half strikes.

Danny Ings brilliantly volleyed Saints in front after 25 minutes, but Ruben Neves equalised from a controversial penalty before Pedro Neto struck the winner from a tight angle.

After marching into the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup with victory over Wolves, Southampton will face AFC Bournemouth away in the next round.

Both teams beat their fifth-round opposition 2-0 away from home, with Bournemouth overcoming Burnley and Saints claiming victory over Wolves.

The quarter-finals are due to take place on the weekend of March 20th, with details to be confirmed in due course.

Southampton's B team match at Blackburn Rovers in Premier League 2 has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Grounds staff and match officials surveyed the pitch at Lancashire County FA and deemed the surface too solid ahead of Monday afternoon's proposed kick-off.

Details of a rearranged fixture will be announced in due course. Saints B's next fixture is at home to Derby County in Premier League 2 on 21st February.

Southampton Football Club can confirm that Radhi Jaïdi has departed the club following his secondment with Hartford Athletic and has now joined Belgian side Cercle Brugge as assistant coach.

Jaidi joined USL Championship side Hartford Athletic in November 2019, as part of an emerging partnership between the Connecticut-based outfit and the Southampton Academy.

Following a successful season in the United States, where he led Hartford to the play-offs for the first time in their history, Jaïdi has now moved onto a new opportunity in Belgium, with his time at St Mary’s now formally at a close.

Southampton Football Club has further strengthened its B team programme with the appointment of Lee Skyrme from the Football Association as Individual Player Coach.

Skyrme joins the professional development phase setup, which was revamped in the summer to closely mirror the philosophies and approach of the first team, working to ensure bespoke individual development plans are created for each player.

Before being appointed at the FA, Skyrme had successful spells at Cardiff, from 2006 to 2013, and Exeter City, from 2013-2016, as Lead Professional Development Coach with both clubs. A UEFA Pro Licence holder, Skyrme then became a national specialist coach with the England men’s youth teams when he joined the FA in 2016, before being appointed head coach of the Under-15s side in 2019.

Southampton Football Club are contacting all 2020/21 Season Ticket holders to give them the option to carry over the remaining value of their tickets for next season or claim a refund.

The club would like to thank its Season Ticket holders for their incredible support and understanding during this challenging time and has made the decision to offer fans the choice to claim a refund given the uncertainty surrounding when they will be allowed back to games at St Mary’s.

Alternatively, supporters can choose to leave the remaining balance on their ticketing account to be used against future fixtures, either this season if fans are allowed back to St Mary’s, for next season’s fixtures or against the value of their 2021/22 Season Ticket.
