Saints come into Sunday's game with positive momentum as they are three games unbeaten in the WSL2, with just one defeat in their past five games.

Before the international break, Simon Parker's side followed up a goalless draw in Durham with two fine wins thanks to a stoppage time goal to beat Ipswich 2-1, and a resounding late flourish to see off Sheffield United with a 5-2 triumph.

Charlton were the league's pace setters for almost the entirety of the campaign, but now find themselves second in the table and firmly in a promotion battle if results don't go their way.

After going unbeaten in the league all season until March, a shock defeat at the hands off Portsmouth derailed their momentum as Karen Hills' side have only won once in their last five outings in all competitions.

Defeats on the road against Bristol City and promotion rivals Crystal Palace, followed by a heartbreaking extra time defeat against Liverpool in the FA Cup, means

PREVIOUS MEETING

Earlier this season, Saints were narrowly beaten by early pace setters Charlton at The Valley, as Tara Bourne's late consolation wasn't enough to rescue a point.

Saints' last win over the Addicks came on the road last season though, as Bourne was on target again with the crucial goal in a 1-0 victory in November 2024.

MANAGER PREVIEW

Speaking ahead of Sunday's clash, Head Coach Simon Parker said: 'It's good to be back into action, it's been quite a long international break and it's always frustrating when you just want to keep the momentum going, but it's a good opportunity for players to have a little bit of a rest.

"We're really looking forward to playing Charlton, we know that if we can finish strongly we give ourselves the best opportunity to finish as high as we can.

"The fans have been outstanding all year, hopefully they'll still be able to come [on Sunday], show their support and hopefully we can put on a performance for them to show the appreciation that we have for them."
