Southampton FC Women will welcome the return of Kiera Sena as they prepare for a trip to Portman Road on Saturday.

Head Coach Simon Parker shared the latest fitness update in his preview of Saturday's Ipswich Town test, as his side face their second consecutive long away trip in the Barclays Women's Super League 2.

Last weekend, Saints were bolstered by the return of Abbie Ferguson and Tegan McGowan against Durham, and can now add fit-again versatile option Kiera Sena to that list, whose return from an extended illness was set to be last week but was momentarily delayed.

However, a physical battle in the North East for attacker Ellie Brazil means that any involvement for her at Portman Road will depend on results of an assessment at Staplewood.

"This time of the season you always get a few little niggles." Parker admitted.

"We had a few absentees last week, but Kiera [Sena] should be back this week. She just had an illness last week, her coming back into the squad was due but unfortunately that just took a delay.

"Abbie [Ferguson] as well is a bit further along, and Ellie [Brazil] took a few knocks in the [Durham] game so we're assessing her and seeing how she's going to be.

"It doesn't matter whoever we have available, they have the quality and the ability to show what they can do and we'll always adapt no matter who's available. It's an opportunity for people to show what they can do so there's positives in any kind of situation."
