Stenson shortlisted for Save of the Month
Southampton FC Women's goalkeeper Fran Stenson has been nominated for the Barclays Women's Super League 2 March Save of the Month.
Saints' shot-stopper kept a clean sheet against Durham - her sixth of the season - and did so with an important stretching save in stoppage time, which has earned her nomination.
With the minutes ticking away at Maiden Castle, the hosts' forward Lucy Watson whipped in a dangerous wide free-kick, which required Stenson to backpedal and tip the ball over the crossbar under advancing pressure.
Fran's nomination is down to a public vote, as the rest of the March shortlist consists of Sian Rogers (Sheffield United), Shae Yañez (Crystal Palace), and Sophie Whitehouse (Charlton).
