Southampton FC Women announce 2021 retained list
Southampton FC Women can confirm their full list of retained players ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Despite enduring another COVID-hit campaign, Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side ended 2020/21 with plenty to cheer about after their application for upward movement into Tier 3 of the women’s football pyramid was approved.
The side played only four league games last season but won each of them, scoring 19 goals and conceding just two.
After the league season was disappointingly curtailed, Saints underlined their strength in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, making it to the fifth round of the competition after beating Championship side Lewes FC away from home along the way, with attention now turning to the FAWNL Southern Premier Division.
