Saints welcome Cyberlynx International College as International Academy Partner
Southampton Football Club is delighted to welcome Cyberlynx International College to its portfolio of International Academy Partners.
The partnership will see Southampton’s Football Partnership team supporting the College’s football and education ambitions and is the club’s first partner in Malaysia.
Cyberlynx International College is a not-for-profit private college in Kuala Lumpur, offering a range of diploma and certificate courses in the areas of sports, business, design and sciences.
The college was established in 2006 and offers the Diploma in Football Studies as its signature programme. All students in Cyberlynx are given free student membership and access to its professional football development programme within the Cyberlynx Football Club, more popularly known as, Cyberlynx FC.
Mark Abrahams, Director of Business & Community Development commented; “We’re looking forward to working with Cyberlynx over the coming years and we’re delighted to be working with an organisation that recognises the power of sport and in particular football.
"There has been a natural synergy between both parties since we began discussions as we have a shared purpose and expertise in developing young people to fulfil their potential.”
The Partnership will see a range of opportunities for Cyberlynx staff, students and the wider community to engage with Southampton FC’s coach and player development programme.
Areas of focus include access to the Southampton FC player development curriculum and its e-Learning Programme, as well as Academy staff visiting Malaysia to deliver Soccer Clinics for young players and masterclasses for coaches.
Managing Director of Cyberlynx, Dato’ Nathan Mahalingam, added: “We chose Southampton FC as they are one of the best football Academies in UK with a focus on football training and education similar to what Cyberlynx is trying to achieve in Malaysia.
“Our coaches and students will benefit greatly from the years of knowledge and expertise that Southampton FC has amassed in producing top level football players for many of the top teams in the English Premier League. This partnership will bring football education in Malaysia to a new level and is also in line with our plans to develop pathways for our outstanding players to play overseas.”
Southampton FC has a growing portfolio of International Academy Partners that supports like-minded clubs and organisations with their ambitions on and off the pitch. For further details on the Cyberlynx International school partnership or for enquiries contact [email protected].
