FA Cup fourth and fifth round draws

Southampton will be in the hat for tonight's FA Cup fourth and fifth round draws.

With the third round tie against Shrewsbury, scheduled to be played last weekend, not taking place due to a number of positive Covid-19 tests in the Shrewsbury camp, a meeting of The FA’s Professional Game Board will take place early this week to make a decision as to what will happen with the fixture.

In the meantime, both clubs will be in the hat for tonight's draw, which will begin at 7pm GMT.

Saints prepare for trip to Leicester

Southampton are back in Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Leicester on Saturday night (8pm GMT).

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will be looking to build on the impressive 1-0 win over top of the table Liverpool last time out, which lifted Saints up to sixth in the table.

Supporters with a BT Sport subscription can watch the match live on BT Sport 1.

Southampton B team midfielder Nathan Tella is amongst those nominated for Premier League 2 player of the month following his performances in December.

The youngster, who has become a regular figure in Ralph Hasenhüttl’s first team squads, scored a remarkable four first half goals to see off Leicester City in his side’s final game of 2020.

The 21-year-old is joined on the December shortlist by Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Brad Lyons (Blackburn), Harry Chapman (Blackburn), Faustino Anjorin (Chelsea), Lewis Bate (Chelsea) and Harvey White (Tottenham).

Southampton FC Women’s league fixtures have been suspended until further notice, following the latest restrictions announced by the government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FA confirmed the halt of all training and fixtures across ‘non-elite’ football in England following Monday night’s news, meaning the FA Women’s National League has been put on hold.

Saints, who are currently top of the Division One South West standings, had next been scheduled to host Brislington on Sunday, but that game will no longer go ahead as planned.

Young Southampton forward Tyreke Johnson has joined League One outfit Gillingham on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

The 22-year-old spent the majority of last season stateside at Hartford Athletic, based in Connecticut, under the stewardship of former Under-23s coach Radhi Jaïdi.

Joining hiss new teammates, Johnson completed the full 90 minutes as the Gills lost 1-0 to Burton Albion in League One on Saturday.
