Max Fry signs new contract
Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that Under-21s defender Max Fry has signed a new contract.
The 19-year-old centre-back has signed a one year extension to his current deal, which came when he penned professional terms back in 2024.
He has risen through the ranks across a decade, after joining Saints' Bristol-based development centre at seven-years-old, and was enjoying a positive campaign with the Under-21s before he suffered a season-ending injury against Real Madrid in October.
Now well on the road to recovery, Fry said: "It feels good that the club have a lot of faith in me to get through this period and come out the other side better than I am already.
"The club were amazing as soon as I got injured. It was probably the lowest point of my season and the club put their hand on me and said 'we've got you'; it was really appreciated and when I get back I hope to pay that back."
Director of Group Talent Strategy, Andy Goldie, added "Max's injury came at the most unfortunate time, when we were seeing real progress in his game within the Under-21s and First Team training.
"Although understandably disappointed, he has shown real grit and resolve in his recovery, which has not only earned his new contract but will ultimately stand him in good stead for the rest of his journey ahead."
