After netting two goals against Bournemouth in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl is hoping to see more of the same from Nathan Redmond going forward.

The attacker netted two stunning strikes and provided an assist in Southampton’s 3-0 win along the south coast which booked a semi-final appearance at Wembley next montth.

Named Man of the Match, Hasenhüttl hailed Redmond’s endeavour: “The only way is to work hard and today he was investing a lot and it seems now he has the physical strength to do this.

“This is important for his game and when he combines both his physical strength with his qualities on the ball, it looks like it did today.

“This is what I expect not just one time a year but one time a week, and when this is happening he is one of the best offensive players we have.”

Now preparing for a first trip to Wembley as a manager, Hasenhüttl is relishing the opportunity.

“It’s fantastic to be honest,” he said. “It’s a dream for me as a manager and to go there and play a game is fantastic.

“I didn’t think about it so far to be honest as I was so focused on the game, but now we have to focus on the league again and then we will have time to concentrate on this game [at Wembley].”
